“Peccatum” (Latin: “The Sin“) is the top blend of the house. It was a sin to limit the harvest by strong thinning out of the grapes in August, our fathers said. Leberl‘s “sin“ is a blend of the best grapes from the varietals Blaufränkisch, Cabernet Sauvignon and Zweigelt of 40 year old vines - ripened for 16 months in mostly new oak barrels.

Description
The Leberls strive to produce expressive, top quality wines - typical of the region – this is a primary goal. The red wines are made with a good aging potential – they show a dense tannin structure and therefore promise a long non-perishableness. Due to the diversity of Grosshöflein’s soils the wines are able to obtain their own very complex taste.
Some of the red wines have been made slightly softer in the last years to allow a pleasurable drinking experience, sooner rather than later. Success is also on their side: In 2005, the Leberl Winery – one of 25 Austrian wine estates – was awarded the third red wine grape by Gault Millau Austria, equating to 17 points on a 20 point scale.
