While the white wines originate from the hilly country around Rust, the Zweigelt, Blaufränkisch, Cabernet and Merlot grow on the heavy Zagersdorf soils. This, along with the type of vinification, creates very imperious wines that are rich in tannin and only become approachable after appropriate storage but at the same time have a very long life.
