Karl Schober is a graduate of the Vienna University for Soil Culture, his branch of study was agriculture and his course was agricultural economics. In addition he attended seminars on winemaking at the Klosterneuburg School of Oenology. The Buschenschank was re-opened after 22 years in 1994 and today is run as a family enterprise.

The green covered vineyards owned by the firm are fertilized exclusively with compost. The wines are matured in wooden casks from which the wines are bottled in April of the following year.
