Established in 1860, the vineyards of this firm, where the vines are planted in the Vertiko training system and have a Lenz-Moser cutting, are green covered with rye. The vines are fertilized with straw or according to the results of precise soil analyses. In the future there will be a greater emphasis laid on ecological cultivation.
Vine varietals for wine from Robert Bayer are Grüner Veltliner, Zweigelt, Weißburgunder, Blauburger, Blauer Portugieser, Müller-Thurgau, Frühroter Veltliner.
The vines in the green covered vineyards belonging to this firm display crown cutting. A large proportion of the grapes is sold to cooperative wineries.
