Since 1771, the family Pröglhöf has been in possession of the winery. Our winery is located on the plain of the Manhartsberg. The wine speciality are the Weinviertel DAC site Speiser and site Graben, Riesling, Zweigelt Exclusive as Cuvée Manhartsberg and Naliub.
Due to the protection of the Manhartsberg the vinyards have differing micro-climates, including a large number of sun-hours. The soil where our vineyards are located consists of loam, loess and primary rocks. These make it possible to produce fresh, fruity elegant white wines. The red wines impress you with fruity finesse, mild acidity and a supple finish.
Markus Pröglhöf who is responsible for wine processing describes his job as one of the most variable occupations on earth. He runs the winery, which comprises 11 ha vineyards, together with his parents, Johann an Roswitha.
Nature is for me the most important partner, points out Markus Pröglhöf. Each drop of wine is a precious taste of nature.
Very important for the winemaker is closeness to nature-production which starts with a well-balanced crop. Careful grape processing makes it possible to emphasize the varied character of the wine as senn with the Weinviertel DAC Klassik and Weinviertel DAC site Speiser, Riesling, Zweigelt Exclusive or Cuvée Manhartsberg and Naliub.
One of the most wonderful moments of the year is the tasting of the new wine after a labour intensive year.
With every drop you share a piece of precious nature.
The vineyards are green coverred from early autumn with winter cereals and rye. The vines display double shoot cutting and are fertilized with nitrogen when nutrient levels are insufficient.
