PIZZATO Vineyards & Wines (Vinícola Pizzato Ltda.) located at the Vale dos Vinhedos, Bento Gonçalves, is owned by the Plínio Pizzato's family. Grandson of the Italian immigrant Antonio Pizzato, having come from the Veneto region, Italy, and established in Bento Gonçalves in 1875. With a solid experience in the production of grapes, the family founded the Vinícola Pizzato in 1999 with the objective of elaborating wines by starting from their own vineyards.
The owned 42 hectares of vineyards are located in two regions, both in the so-called Serra Gaúcha:
• Vale dos Vinhedos, Bento Gonçalves, with origin indication (IGT)
• Doutor Fausto, Dois Lajeados
At the Vineyard, the utilization of updated vinification techniques, oakwood barrels further to the production of selected grapes enables the production of top quality wines with well defined personality. The wines (Vale dos Vinhedos-IGT and Doutor Fausto) are 100% elaborated by Pizzato from its own grapes with technical coordination (vinification and viticulture) by oenologists belonging to the family.
